  • Education Credits and Depreciation Forms

    Monday 11th of February 2013 1:56:18 PM

The Internal Revenue Service announced on February 8, 2013 that US taxpayers will be able to start filing two key tax forms that cover education credits and depreciation starting this week.

As of February 10, 2013 the Internal Revenue Service began processing those tax returns that contain Form 4562, Depreciation and Amortization. On Thursday February 14, 2013 the Internal Revenue Service plans to commence the processing of Form 8863, Education Credits.

Due to these forms not being accessible most taxpayers were unable to go forth with filing their taxes even though tax season had officially opened on January 30, 2013.

The Internal Revenue Service will continue to work on preparing IRS systems to accept any remaining tax forms that were affected by the American Taxpayer Relief Act (ATRA) enacted by Congress on January 2, 2013.

Also, in recent IRS news it was announced that any remaining forms that may have been affected by the January legislation will be accepted early March. At this time there is no specific date and it will be announced later.

For a full list of the forms that will be accepted the first week of March is available on IRS.gov
